About Hershey Medical Center 3 Day Diet
The Hershey Medical Center 3 day diet is a short term (3 days) diet that focuses on super low calorie consumption- about 700 calories a day. Proponents of the diet claim that it works by chemical breakdown, and sometimes refer to it as some variant of “Hershey Medical Center Chemical Breakdown Diet”.
Surprisingly, Hershey Medical Center did not create this diet, nor do they endorse it. In fact, once you see the Hershey Medical Center diet menu below, and compare it to other 3 day diets found on this site, you’ll see that it is identical to, or nearly identical to almost every 3 day diet listed. It has gone by many other names, including the American Heart Association 3 Day Diet, the British Heart Foundation 3 Day Diet (aka: BHF Diet), the Cleveland Clinic Diet, the 3 Day Miami Diet, the 3 Day Chemical Breakdown Diet, the 3 Day Army Diet, the 3 Day Baptist Diet, the 3 Day Cardiac Diet, the 3 Day Heart Diet, the 3 Day Hospital Diet, the 3 Day Tuna Diet, and many, many others. None of these organizations claim that they created this diet, and it seems that names of hospitals end up tacked onto the original 3 day diet depending on the location of the dieters. Of course, with the advent of the internet, location doesn’t matter as much, but by now the names are firmly entrenched in the vocabulary of dieters everywhere. (Sadly, despite the name and the location, the diet does not include chocolate)
The HMC 3 Day Diet works for short term weight loss, and will usually cause you to lose at least 1 lb a day. While many claims are made that following this diet exactly will cause a chemical breakdown of fat, the truth is that most of the weight lost is nothing but water weight, and any more is likely to be loss of actual muscle mass, and not fat. Plus, following a very low calorie diet for long will actually cause your body to slow down your metabolism, to make up for not receiving enough calories to run on. In the end, you may end up gaining weight rather than losing it.

Hershey Medical Center 3 Day Diet Review
As far as I am concerned, the Hershey Medical Center 3 Day Diet is not a healthy diet to undertake. Long term weight loss can only be achieved with a healthy long term diet and exercise. Even weight loss surgery isn’t long term unless it’s followed up with a healthy diet. However, for quick weight loss for the short term, such as wanting to look your best for a party, a short crash diet may be just the thing you need. Like many other quick diets, the Hershey Medical Center 3 Day Diet may be ideal.Discuss the 3 Day Diet
