<p>The <a href="http://day-diets.com/category/3-day-hospital-diet" class="kblinker" title="More about 3 Day Hospital Diet &raquo;">3 day hospital diet</a> is actually known by many names. In fact, there is more than one 3 day hospital diet menu, though all seem to be equally effective and follow similar strictures. For example, no matter which three day hospital diet you choose, it will likely be limited to 700 calories a day, and be protein heavy and low on carbohydrates. No matter the claims, none of them create a chemical breakdown of fat, and the majority of weight lost will be water weight. Nearly all of them recommend following the diet for three days only, and then having a 4 day break before starting the diet again.</p>
<p>The 3 day hospital diet is also known as the 3 day American Heart Association diet, the 3 day British Heart Foundation diet (aka BHF Diet), the Miami Heart diet, the Cleveland Clinic diet, the 3 day pre-op diet, the 3 day army diet, the 3 day military diet, and many, many others.  The interesting thing is that none of the hospitals who&#8217;s names are being used for these diets claim any involvement whatsoever with developing or recommending these diets. In fact, almost all of them flat out recommend that anyone who wishes to lose weight should not follow these diets.</p>
<p>So far, no one has actually stepped up to claim responsibility for creating this diet, though I have seen some references to a specific diet supplement which recommends this diet in addition to their diet aid.</p>
<p>Anyone who wishes to try the 3 day hospital diet should do so with caution. When consuming such low calories, your body will eventually enter conservation mode/starvation mode. What this means is that after a few days of not providing enough calories for your body, your body will believe that it&#8217;s in famine and will begin hording those calories as fat. You may not actually gain weight if you follow this diet for too long, but you will likely stop losing weight, and if you begin eating normally after this happens you will likely gain more weight than you initially lost, because your body will still be hoarding calories.</p>
<p>However, 3 days does not seem to be long enough to trigger this response in your body, and if you follow the 4 day break rule (eating normally for 4 days following the 3 day hospital diet before beginning the diet again), the conservation of calories should not be an issue. The diet is not nutritionally complete, though, so be wary of following it for an extended period of time.</p>

Luckily, the <a href="http://day-diets.com/3-day-diet" class="kblinker" title="More about 3 Day Diet &raquo;">3 day diet</a> system is perfect for people that are trying to lose weight in a short period of time, but don&#8217;t want to do all the physical activity that comes along with it. But before I go any further, let me just say that all diets are great, but they need to be followed up with rigorous workout schedules if you expect to keep the weight off permanently. This is just the truth.</p>
<p>With that said, let&#8217;s get down to the business of the 3 day diet systems.</p>
<h2>Purpose of the 3 Day Diet System</h2>
<p>Obviously, the purpose of the 3 day diet system is to get you to lose weight in 3 days. It doesn&#8217;t take rocket scientist to figure this out. However, this is done by eating certain foods that are suppose to do specific things to your body to get the reactions you need in order to lose weight.</p>
<p>The concept is to get your body to speed up its metabolism rate to burn more calories than usual. This is coupled by the fact that you will not be eating a lot of calories in the first place, so this is suppose to be easier than your typical day to burn fat and lose weight. However, speeding up the metabolism hasn&#8217;t been scientifically proven, even though you can find many fitness and diet gurus that tell you it has been. Just be careful when you hear the claims behind many of these diet plans.</p>
<p>In addition to this, the foods that you eat will keep you regularly visiting the bathroom to excrete the remains or waste in your body. This does work because we all are prone to keep food and waste stored in our body for extra pounds. And the fruits and vegetables that are in the diet are great for making this happen, so not everything in connection with the 3 day diet is a bunch of crap. This will happen for you.</p>
<h2>Types of 3 Day Diet Systems</h2>
<p>One of the great things about the 3 day diet is the number of variations that are available. You can really tailor the type of diet you want and need to your taste buds because there are so many to choose from. Instead of running through the entire list, I am going to select a few specific ones to tell you a little bit about. But I encourage you to take a look at the rest of the site and select the diets that best fit your wants, needs, and taste.</p>

<p>The 3 Day Birmingham Diet which is generally referred to as the <a title="More about 3 Day Cardiac Diet »" href="http://day-diets.com/3-day-cardiac-diet">3 Day Cardiac diet</a> is a fad or yoyo diet that misleads would be dieters by promising weight loss of up to 10 lbs in just 3 days. The diet will help you lose weight; unfortunately it is through improper use of low calorie intake and diuretics.  This means an unhealthy way to lose weight for dieters that are ultimately going to result in future weight gain.</p>
<p>The concept behind the diet is that by following a very strict meal plan for 3 days the body will basically go through a magic change or metabolic transformation in which you will start burning fat faster than you normally would.</p>
<p>The 3 Day Birmingham diet is basically just hogwash.  The creators of this diet have simply changed the name of the original <a href="http://day-diets.com/3-day-diet" class="kblinker" title="More about 3 Day Diet &raquo;">3 day diet</a> that was created in the 1980s and attached the name of a respected health organization to it in order to help them sell their diet and make money off of it.</p>
<p>The diet tries to convince you to follow a strict eating plan that does not offer a smart variety of clean foods or exercise plan to manage your weight loss goals.  After completing the diet and returning to your normal eating patterns and behaviors you will likely gain any weight back that you lost, and maybe more.</p>
<p>The problem with low calorie diets is that you are forcing your body to live of the fat and muscle that your body already has to create energy that it would normally get from the foods that you eat.  So when you return to normal eating your body then stores more fats so that the next time it needs the excess it will have it readily available.</p>
<p>If you are looking to lose weight I would suggest you consult your family physician or a nutritionist and creating a healthy menu and exercise plan.  This way your relationship with food will be a positive one and you will be set up with a path to succeed in the long term.  Staying away from fad diets like the 3 Day Birmingham Diet is a smart idea because you are only hurting yourself by trying to cheat your way to a thinner body.</p>
<p>Remember that it is more important to be healthy that it is to be thin.  If you can accomplish the goal of being healthy, you will be at the weight you want to in no time.  If you do the 3 Day Birmingham Diet you will be yo-yoing your weight up and down and not helping yourself in any way.</p>

<p>The Cleveland Clinic, the American Heart Association, the Kaiser Permanente are all reputable healthcare organizations, clinics, and hospitals that have come out denying any association with this diet.  Each of them having a variation of the diet named after them like 3 Day American Heart Association Diet, and 3 Day Kaiser Diet for example.</p>
<p>The 3 Day Cleveland Clinic Diet is actually just an alias for the 3 day diet that was created in the mid 1980s as a fad diet.</p>
<p><strong>What does the 3 Day Cleveland Clinic Diet Involve?</strong></p>
<p>The diet plan itself is simple.  Eat these specific meals for 3 days and your body will have a “unique metabolic” transformation that will help you lose 10 pounds.</p>
<p>In reality the diet just provides you with a low calorie meal plan that will cut your food intake and you will experience no metabolic change.  The diet also advocates drinking a few cups of coffee a day, which will help reduce water weight inside your body and may be a part of your weight loss.</p>
<p>For those of you that do not know, coffee is a diuretic.  A diuretic is a substance that pulls excess water from your cells and makes you relieve yourself more frequently.  In laymen’s terms in makes you go pee more.  Drinking too much coffee is not good for you as it can dehydrate your body.  While completing the 3 day diet you should drink plenty of water to stay hydrated, but be prepared for the diet to be less effective in terms of weight loss if you do because they authors of the diet are banking on the loss of water weight to reach the goal of 10 pounds.</p>

Unbelievable that there are still people in this world that want to complete this diet as it was thought to diet out in the 1980s along with big hair and tight shorts, but no, the people demanded all three and they remain with us.</p>
<h2>Why the Three Day Diet</h2>
<p>Most people are interested in the <a href="http://day-diets.com/3-day-diet" class="kblinker" title="More about 3 Day Diet &raquo;">3 day diet</a> because of a few common reasons. And what I want to do here today is talk about many of those common reasons for entering into the three day diet.</p>
<p><strong>Reason #1.</strong> It is only three days long. That&#8217;s right. We live in a world of instant gratification and there are just not many people that want to sick with a weight loss plan for an extended period of time. Today&#8217;s society wants instant gratification, not long workout periods and slow results. We want to get fit and get fit now. Therefore, a diet that last only over a 3 day period is perfect for us.</p>
<p><strong>Reason #2.</strong> They need the weight off now for an event. Imagine you just bought a dress and your class reunion is coming up. Now you figure that you are about one inch too big for that dress and there are only 3 days left. What would you do? That&#8217;s right, try the 3 day diet.</p>
<p><strong>Reason #3.</strong> There are a lot of variety in the three day diet. You probably didn&#8217;t know this when you first came to this site, but there are a great number of diet plans to choose from that only take 3 days to complete, many of which are talked about here on this website. <p>The three day diet has been around for a few decades now, and while it&#8217;s lost some of its publicity, the diets themselves (yes, there are several versions of the three day diet) seem to be just as popular as they were when the first wave hit.</p>
<p>About The Three Day Diet</p>
<p>The three day diet is quite simple. It&#8217;s a high protein, low carbohydrate diet that severely limits your calorie intake- usually to 700 calories a day or lower. Mainly it works by causing you to lose a lot of water weight, which will come rushing back as soon as you begin eating normally again. If you decide to remain on the diet for longer than the 3 days, you may find that your metabolism slows down to a ridiculously low level, which will slow down your weight loss, and may even reverse itself, causing you to gain more weight than you initially lost.</p>
<p>In order to prevent this, the proponents of the three day diet(s) recommend that you follow the diet (whichever of the variations that you choose) strictly for 3 days and follow those by 4 days of eating normally. This helps to prevent your body from lowering your metabolism. However, if you need to lose a large amount of weight, this is not a good option, because you&#8217;ll find yourself yo-yo dieting, which is actually worse for you in the long run.</p>
<p>The three day diet goes by many other names, such as the <a href="http://day-diets.com/3-day-cardiac-diet" class="kblinker" title="More about 3 Day Cardiac Diet &raquo;">3 day cardiac diet</a>, the three day hospital diet, the 3 day Miami heart diet, the three day army diet, the 3 day Cleveland diet, the 3 day American Heart Association diet, the 3 day British Heart Foundation diet, and many others. However, all of these organizations deny any involvement in creating or promoting the diet, and even encourage you to not follow it. Those who claim that it&#8217;s a pre-op diet state that it is for patients who need to lose a lot of weight quickly before a surgery, though I&#8217;ve yet to see any one patient come forward and state that their doctor recommended it, and I&#8217;ve never seen a doctor recommend the diet at all.</p>
<p>Three Day Diet Review</p>
<p>I can not review the three day diet thoroughly as I have never tried it myself. But given my knowlege of nutrition (which is self taught, so I make no medical recommendations), I would venture to say that the three day diet is relatively safe so long as it&#8217;s followed precisely. By this I mean that it should only be followed for 3 days, and should have a break of no fewer than 4 days in between following the diet.  Preferably more. And since the weight lost is mostly water weight and not actual fat, it&#8217;s really only good for short term weight loss.</p>

<p>The few, the proud, the in shape.  Say what you will about the war on terror, the war in Iraq, or any war for that matter, but don’t say the United States Military is not in shape.   This is not a political site and I am not here to sway your views on what is right our wrong with our countries military, but I can introduce to you the 3 day Military Diet.</p>
<p><strong>What is the 3 Day Military Diet?</strong></p>
<p>Also known as the 3 Day Army Diet the military diet is a short term diet and exercise regimen designed to get you in the shape needed to accomplish the requisite tests you will take in order to enter boot camp.</p>
<p>The 3 day military diet is not the long term solution or guide to becoming a military expert or their specific health program. Instead it is a quick diet to lose a few pounds, and prepare you for the entrance pushup, sit-up, and running requirements of the US military.</p>
<p><strong>What is the 3 Day Military Diet Menu?</strong></p>
<p>There isn’t a specific menu.  Instead there is a guide to healthy eating.  The 3 day Military Diet suggests eating lean protein such as fish, turkey, chicken, 93% lean ground beef or above, fresh green vegetables, beans, nuts, fruits, and extra whey protein to help build a long term nutrition plans that will help you get fit and stay fit.</p>
<p><strong>What is the 3 Day Military Diet Exercise Plan?</strong></p>
<p>It is really quite simple.  In order to get into basic training you need to be able to accomplish certain goals; one for pushups, one for sit-ups, and one for running.  So we are going to get you up to snuff in those three areas. Follow these instructions to a T and you will be losing weight and ready to go for BT, or just whatever goal you have set for yourself.</p>
<p>Start by doing as many pushups as you can without stopping, immediately flip over and do as many sit-ups as you can without stopping.  Rest for 30 seconds and then repeat until you can’t do anymore.</p>
<p>This method of training is going to build muscle, burn fat, and since you are doing the exercises without much rest it keeps your heart rate higher giving the workout cardio like results.</p>
<p>Finally run/walk 2miles a day.  You must finish the 2 miles whether it is running or walking. Give yourself a goal to beat your previous days time.</p>
<p><strong>3 Day Military Diet Results:</strong></p>
<p>Don’t expect huge numbers from the 3 Day Military Diet.  But do expect to lose weight, real weight unlike many other versions of the <a href="http://day-diets.com/3-day-diet" class="kblinker" title="More about 3 Day Diet &raquo;">3 Day Diet</a>.  The 3 Day Military Diet is a great weigh to boost your energy and start burning fat.</p>

<p>The 3 Day Kaiser Diet, often called the 3 Day Kaiser Permanente Diet, is simply an alias for the original <a href="http://day-diets.com/3-day-diet" class="kblinker" title="More about 3 Day Diet &raquo;">3 day diet</a>. The diet itself does not differ in any way from the 3 day diet; it in fact follows the exact same nutrition plan and guidelines for performing the 3 Day Diet.</p>
<p>The 3 Day Kaiser Diet is named after one of America’s leading health organizations Kaiser Permanente.  The reason the diet is named this was simply so that the creators of the diet could use the name of the respected organization to promote the diet and make money of off it.  The Kaiser Permanente organization actually has no affiliation with the diet.</p>
<p>This is a common practice for marketers of the 3 day diet and its other pseudonyms; many people have renamed the diet with aliases such as the 3 Day Cleveland Clinic Diet, the 3 Day Birmingham Diet, The 3 Day National Heart Association Diet. And when it comes down to it all of the prior organization have no affiliate and have generally come out speaking against the diet.</p>
<p><strong>What Is The 3 Day Kaiser Diet?</strong></p>
<p>The diet involves following a strict meal plan that includes 3 meals a day for 3 days.  The diet is comprised of low calories and diuretics which will help stimulate short term weight loss.  The 3 Day Kaiser Diet does not include any exercise and does not continue for more than 3 days.  After you have completed the diet it is suggested that you return to eating normally for 4 to 5 days before attempting to do the diet again.</p>
<p><strong>What are the results of the 3 Day Kaiser Diet?</strong></p>
<p>According to the diet plan you are expected to lose 10 pounds in 3 days. Realistically you should expect to lose 3 to 4 pounds of water weight that will be gained back once you return to your normal eating and drinking habits.</p>
<p><strong>Is the 3 Day Kaiser Diet Healthy?</strong></p>
<p>We recommend you speak with your physician before starting any diet.  Ultimately the 3 Day Kaiser isn’t unhealthy, but it does not advocate long term weight loss or maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The extended use of diuretics such as coffee could result in dehydration if you do not drink enough water.  The low caloric intake of the diet is worrisome to me and I feel like speaking with a nutritionist or physician to decide what you caloric intake needs to be should be done before you start.</p>

Or similar what kind of results will I see with the 3 day diet, how much weight will I lose on the three day diet, etc&#8230;</p>
<p>The answer: depending on whom you talk to will vary from 2 pounds to the full 10 advertised pounds.</p>
<p>However the likelihood of the 3 day diet results being 10 pounds is pretty much slim to none.</p>
<p>There are constant arguments about whether the diet is healthy, unhealthy, good, bad, so on and so forth.  But one thing I have noticed while researching the 3 day diet is that although the results may vary, there almost always seems to be some sort of positive results. People almost always seem to be losing some kind of weight.</p>
<p>You may have read one or two of my other articles on the 3 day diet already, and if you have you will know that I don’t think very highly of the diet.  I personally feel like it creates a bad relationship with food, exercise, and will eventually lead to further weight gain. This diet is not aimed at building a healthy lifestyle, but with that said it does do a very good job of helping you lose weight, and most of the time that is exactly what we are looking to do.</p>
<p>The combination of low caloric intake from the strict nutrition plan and the loss of water weight from drinking coffee will undoubtedly help you see the results you are looking for fast.</p>
<p>I would expect the results of the 3 day diet to be more around 3 to 4 lbs than 10. Simply because losing more that a pound a day on any diet is unlikely, especially one in which you are not utilizing exercising, building muscle, or burning fat. And you are ultimately just starving and dehydrating yourself.</p>

<p>People have really taken to the opportunity to fit into that little black dress or drop a few pounds before a big event and don&#8217;t show any signs of letting this feeling going. <h2>Is the 3 Day Diet Fad Right For You?</h2>
<p>With the above said, don&#8217;t feel bad because you might be looking for a short cut or a quick fix. It is the way of the world and if you are dedicated to follow the regiment, then perhaps this might be the right thing for you at the moment. But to answer the question is this the right diet plan for you is something that is up to you.</p>
<p>It is recommended that you consult with your doctor before entering into any type of diet or even fitness plans as your past physical condition has a lot to do with what your body can handle today.
