11 Day Diet Review

The 11 day diet is a nutrition plan designed to help you lose 9 pounds of fat in just 11 days.  In this article I plan to give you my perception of whether or not the diet will work, whether or not they claims they make make sense and whether or not I think you should do the diet. This article is complete opinion and suggestion based on insights and is not an official 11 day diet review as I do not own a subscription to the website that sells the diet.

The 11 day diet is a fad diet that uses slightly accurate information to sell a 90 subscription to a website.  The diet itself seems to me to be nothing but another fad diet created with great marketing potential, but one that also offers on real health benefits or long term weight loss results.

The 11 day diet advocates many things that I agree with. 1 being the low calorie diets don’t work and another being the no carb diets are just bad.  I don’t agree with the reasons the 11 day diet suggest these types of diets are bad, but I do agree that in the long term they are impossible to complete and do not offer well balanced solutions to weight loss.

The 11 day diet also promotes some unusual thinking when it comes to eating.  They say that how much food you eat doesn’t matter.  In fact they are really specific to eating certain foods at certain times of the day as your metabolism is programmed to be looking for eggs at 2:00 pm or milk at 7:15.  The concept in reality is absolutely ridiculous.  We all know the key to weight loss is proper diet and exercise, but it does what it is supposed to. Get people to buy subscriptions.

All in all the 11 day diet is a hoax.  A diet built strictly for making money by a group of internet marketers and not physicians or dietitians.

If I where you I would save my money and do a diet that is about making healthy lifestyle choices and not one that is looking for an easy way to lose weight. Because there is no such thing as an easy way to lose weight, there is a smart way, a right way, and a wrong way. And if you are doing it anyway but with healthy eating and exercise you are doing it the wrong way.

This 11 day diet review is strictly opinion from me, and I have not ever done or purchased the program.  You should make an educated decision with the help of your family doctor before starting any diet.

The Eleven Day Diet

The eleven day diet

The eleven day diet is a weight loss program created by the owners of www.idiotproofdiet.com who suggest that completing the 11 day diet will result in 9 pounds of weight loss and that anybody, even the biggest idiot can do it.

Since the eleven day “idiot proof” diet is a paid 90 day subscription program I am unable to list the actually menu items and exercises that are involved. But I can give you guys the gist of things. Oh and the 90 days will cost you $27.00.

My understanding of the diet comes simply from reading their website which gives a good summarization of their main points.

The first point the eleven day diet stresses is that the number of calories you eat or the amount of exercise you do don’t matter.  They believe that your body instead is more worried about what certain foods it is getting and when it gets them, also known as a big old chunk of BS.

The second point the eleven day diet advocates is one that I actually agree with.  Low calorie diets don’t work and actually just caused your body to store more fat.  It is true.  If you starve yourself your body is going to burn fewer calories and store more fat for the next time you do the diet. Why because you body says “woah!” I am hungry and need energy for times when food isn’t around so it stores more fat and makes it harder for you to lose weight.

The third point the eleven day diet advocates is how miserable low carbohydrate diets can be.  Who cares about miserable? I care about healthy.  Good carbs will help you lose weight and give you tons of energy. I agree that low carb diets suck, but for different reasons.

Finally the eleven day diet gets into it’s crazy voodoo rhythm and start babbling on about some calorie shift garbage that is just nonsense.

In my opinion there is nothing true about this diet.  It is just another fad / yo-yo program that is trying to steal money out of your wallet.  Don’t buy the diet or the results.  You are likely to gain any weight back that you may have lost while completing one of these programs.

My suggestion is to forget about the eleven day diet and to go visit your physician and plan a balance diet and exercise plan made just for you.

11 Day Idiot Diet

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

The 11 day idiot diet is a very interesting diet choice and I am torn on how I feel about it. Part of me loves this diet as I am tired of diet plans that have the same mundane eating patterns day in and day out. Therefore, the variety of the 11 day diet is something that really appeals to me and I don’t know quite how to take it. Let me explain.

What is the 11 Day Idiot Diet?

Most people say that anyone that goes on a diet needs to lose weight. I guess that is true, but the problem with most diets is the lame eating plans that bore you to death day in and day out. But the 11 day idiot diet plan is totally different. The concept is to confuse your stomach with different foods each and every day.

Supposedly, the body over time gets used to the foods that you eat. And this same eating pattern leads to the body creating a situation where it stores more energy than it burns by lowering your metabolic rate in the process thus allowing you to maintain your current rate or even gaining weight over time. And this is not the idea, right?

Well, the eleven day diet is totally different. Each day of eating is totally original. This is suppose to confuse the body and stomach into working just as hard or even harder than the day before, burning calories and allowing you to lose weight over time.

What is confusion about the 11 Day Idiot Diet?

I am on the fence as to does this type of plan really work or not. I am not sure that the concept of the body growing use to the types of food you eat over time is real or not. It doesn’t seem to work well with the concepts of metabolic rate that I am familiar with from science class.

It seemed to me that your metabolic rate was determined by, yes, the types of food you eat, but also the amount of physical activity you encounter during the day, and your body type. This diet’s claim seems to eliminate the latter two options and just focuses on the types of food you eat. Even though this is taken out of concept as well because the types of food you eat is not weather you eat the same foods, but the number of enzymes in the foods you eat that determine the metabolic rate.

Feelings about the 11 Day Idiot Diet

As I am writing this article, I think my feelings about the 11 day diet has just crystallized. It is an idiot diet. Not because you are an idiot if you try it, but because the diet concept doesn’t make any sense at all. The body is more sophisticated to be fooled by eating the same foods over and over again. There is too much going on inside the body for something this simple to just throw it off like that.

My recommendation would be to give the 11 day diet plan a shot, but be sure to mix in an healthy amount of physical activity and working out to counter balance the food that you are taking in. During the 11 day idiot diet, you will not consume very many calories, so that is great, but the physical activity that you enjoy should help you burn the excess fat and calories that you are trying to lose.

As expected, be sure to consult your physician before engaging in physical activity and even starting the 11 day idiot diet.

11 Day Diet Plan

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

When it comes to the 11 day diet plan, I must admit that I am a bit skeptical of it, but I wasn’t at first. Understand that I have a buddy that is a generally a real pessimist, therefore, I don’t pay much attention to what he says, but in the case of the 11 day diet plan he just might have some valid points.

But before we get into what is wrong with the 11 day diet plan, let’s find out what it is all about first, ok?

How the 11 Day Diet Plan Works

The 11 day diet plan runs for 11 straight days. I know that was a tough one to figure out, so glad that we cleared the air up right away. Seriously, the concept behind this diet plan is to confuse your body as to what types and quantity of food is coming next. The idea is similar to that P90X workout plan that runs as a 90 day diet and fitness plan for all types of people, muscle confusion.

Only in the case of the eleven day diet, I call it stomach confusion. Over time the body and stomach is suppose to become aware of the types of food and patterns that you eat and make adjustments accordingly. This is suppose to be able to allow the body to maintain a certain environment over time and keep the metabolic rate down causing you to maintain or even gain weight. And the idea here is not to gain weight right? It is to lose it.

The 11 day diet helps you lose weight by confusing the body as to what foods are coming next. Therefore, your daily meal plan is very mixed up and is never the same thing twice, not allowing you body time to figure out what is coming next, keeping the metabolic rate up high, and burning as many calories as possible.

What is the Problem with the 11 Day Diet Plan?

My buddy believes the entire concept of stomach confusion is a hoax and is only a great marketing ploy to get you to purchase their products and services. Yes, he even believes the P90X muscle confusion is a hoax and the reason people get great results from it is because the workout plan is very difficult, last for 90 days, and is full of hard work. And if you workout that long, you are bound to see results.

I must admit that the concept behind the 11 day diet is a bit fishy to me being that your body has the job of cleaning out waste and your metabolic rate is linked to the amount of physical activity you do during a day, your particular body type, and the types of food you eat. It seems rather impossible that just because you eat the same types of foods your body would ignore the other two factors in the determination of an high or low metabolic rate.

Therefore, overtime I have become a skeptic of the 11 day diet plan, but not because it cannot work for you, but because of the concept behind it and the unlikelihood that the body would respond this way.

Understand that I am not saying that this diet plan will not work. In fact, I believe you could see some great results from it. But that is because you are not eating many calories during the day, thus leading to weight loss. And less about the stomach confusion that they are selling in the 11 day diet plan.

11 Day Diet Plans

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

You have to love the fact that there are a lot of 11 day diet plans to choose from. Well, this isn’t entirely true. I say this isn’t true because there is really only one 11 day diet plan, but it comes with so many variations to it that it seems to be a large variety of choices available. Let me explain.

How the 11 Day Diet Plans Work

This particular diet plan is like nothing I have ever seen. It is based around a concept that is great for the 90 day diet and exercise plan known as P90x. I says this because instead of muscle confusion like P90X is based on, this 11 day diet plan is based on food confusion.

The idea is that over time your body grows aware of the types of foods you put into your body and eventually grows and immunity to them. This causes your body to store more energy by lowering your metabolic rate causing you to maintain your current weight or worst, to gain more weight. It is believed that your body grows use to this pattern of starches, calories, and protein that you digest and begins to formulate a different metabolic flow to maintain the environment that it feels is comfortable.

The 11 Day Diet plan is designed to mix the body up by mixing up your meal plan. Most day diet plans that you find on this website will feature diets that are very predictable about what is going to go into the body. By this, I mean that your pattern of eating will basically be the same for the most part during each day. But this 11 day diet is totally different because the foods that you eat are much different day to day. In fact, you never eat the same type of food twice except for the second and the eleventh day.

Is this diet plan for you?

That question remains to be seen. Personally, I have not tried this diet, but am very interested in the process it goes through as I have tried the P90X workout with great success. The muscle confusion concept works in physical fitness, but I am not so sure that it will work the same with stomach confusion. Then again, I guess there is only one way to find out. Give it a shot, and be sure to let us know how the 11 day diet plans work for you!

11 Day Diets

Unlike many of the other day diets, specifically the 3 day diet, the 11 day diet is not overrun with variations and aliases claiming to be different versions of the diet. In fact in all of my research I was only able to find 1 specific version of the 11 day diet.

The 11 day diet also known as the idiot proof diet is 11 day diets plan (obviously) that uses a diet regimen that is similar to the exercise regimen of the p90x diet plan.  The 11 day diet uses what I will term metabolism confusion to help you lose weight, which is kind of a play on the p90x day diets muscle confusion, although outside of that I wouldn’t consider the 11 day diet anywhere near as healthy or good as a diet.

Doing the 11 Day Diets Meal Plan:

The 11 Day diet is not a free diet so I cannot list the specifics of the diet on this page.  Instead I can only give you a brief review of what I think of the diet and the overall concepts of what it is trying to accomplish.  If after you read this article you really want to learn more about the diet it is available for $27.00 for a 90 day subscription at the author’s website.

The 11 day diets concept as I mentioned above is similar to the p90x diets concept of muscle confusion, but in this case metabolism confusion.  That is where the similarities stop though.

The 11 day diet consists of a wide variety of foods for you to create many different meals with over an 11 day period.  The idea is to make sure that you are not eating the same thing twice so that your metabolism cannot create a system or fall into a pattern when it is breaking down your food and using it to create energy and so on and so forth.

The authors of the diet are suggesting that your metabolism has a memory and uses your past eating habits to create a routine for itself.  This routine becomes unfavorable to losing weight, and in order to lose weight from now on you basically need to keep you metabolism on its toes.

Realistically this idea seems to me like bullsh**.  Not to be harsh, but it just seems all hoaxish to me.  Same goes for the muscle confusion concept of the p90x diet.  But that is at topic for another day.

If you have done the 11 day diet or any know of any other 11 day diets be sure to let us know and we will do a review of them just for you.

11 Day Diet Menu

Monday, June 7th, 2010

If you have done any of the day diets such as the 3 day diet or any other quick weight loss “fad” diet to slim down quickly then you know how prone to overeating you may become afterwards. The 11 day diet may be a good next step to try as it is a little higher in calories and the 11 day diet menu features a wider range of food.

Don’t be fooled though, the 11 day diet is still very low calorie and we think this is the main element that may lead to weight loss, not some fancy metabolism speeding mix of foods like the diet often claims. A low calorie diet could cause some issues such as weakness or generally feeling not right so you must check with your doctor before going on such a plan.

The basics of the 11 day diet menu

The 11 day diet menu is a4 meal a day plan (eaten in any order) with a variety of carb and protein meals supposedly aimed at tricking your metabolism into speeding up and never 100% satisfying your hunger. This could lead to binging so you need to be very careful and dedicated to carry out such a plan. Us human’s are not supposed to feel hungry so it could also be deemed somewhat unhealthy. You can however drink as much water and diet soda as you want and a range of condiments are included in the plan from mustard to light salad dressing.

11 day diet sample menu items

As there are 4 meals a day different 11 day diet plans feature a wide range of meals and ideally the plans should be suited to you with quantities and calories suited to your weight and goals. Below are some sample food combinations from the daily meals

  1. Grilled Chicken and scrambled eggs
  2. Cottage Cheese, and banana/vanilla milkshake
  3. Garden salad with fresh apples
  4. Cottage Cheese and garbanzo beans
  5. Sausages, eggs and pinto beans
  6. Cashews nuts, sausages and prunes
  7. Bacon strips, low fat milk or frozen unsweetened yogurt
  8. Shrimps, peanuts and apples
  9. Scrambled eggs, sliced turkey with green or/and red vegetables
  10. Tuna Salad and ham slices

A lot of the food is pretty normal and stuff you may often eat already…. Just in less quantity and kept very simple to reduce extra calorie intake. The diet in essence is extremely easy to follow and all meal items are easy to get from almost any supermarket. This is a good thing in many ways as the success of the diet can only be put on you and your willingness to stick with it.

What do you think of the 11 day diet menu?

I have not tried this diet myself so think it’s important to get feedback from you, the reader. I would love to know what you experience with this or similar diets has been and how you would make changes, do anything differently or if you would say it’s best to avoid it all together.

Good luck….

11 Days Diet

Monday, June 7th, 2010

The 11 days diet is a refreshing change of pace from the other day diets that we have been featuring on this site, like the 3 day diet. It is different because each day is not centered around the same meals day in and day out, but there is much variety to this diet plan that draws the attention of a lot of people that might not really be into dieting. The reason many of these people don’t like to diet is because of the regimented routines that you have to follow. But the 11 days diet is different.

If you are going to diet for 11 straight days, there better be some type of twist to make it not seem so long and arduous of a task. The 11 day diet does this with variety. Because as they say, variety is the spice of life, right?

What’s different about the 11 Days Diet?

As we talked about in the above paragraphs, the 11 days diet is all about variety. Similar to the 90 day diet and fitness program P90X, the change of pace keeps you interested, involved, and dedicated to the process. Plus it keeps your body guessing what is next.

The concept behind the 11 day diet program is that your body over time realizes what you eat on a regular basis and eventually builds up a resistance to this food, lowers your metabolism rate, and makes it difficult to lose extra pounds as a result. A lot of people don’t think this is the case, but for the case of this article let’s assume it does.

To keep the diet program fresh, everyday in the 11 days diet plan what you eat is different throughout the day, except days 2 and 11. They are the same. All the other days are from a wide variety of foods. This is suppose to keep the metabolism rate high and keep you burning those calories that you need to lose the weight that you desire.

Does the 11 Days Diet Work

For me, the jury is still out on this diet as I have not tried it personally, therefore, I cannot say without the shadow of a doubt that it works. But I do know this. With the number of calories that you are to eat each day with this diet, which is not many, if you add regular physical activity to this then you will most definitely lose weight. If you don’t, then I guess it is a roll of the dice.

If you have any experience with the 11 days diet plan, please let us know about your experiences and help out the community.

The 11 Day Diet

Is there such a thing as an idiot proof diet? There just maybe.

The 11 Day Diet which is also known as the idiot proof diet takes a different approach to weight loss.  Instead of a strict meal plan that limits the types of food you consume on a daily basis the diet asks you to constantly change what foods you are eating.

The theory behind the 11 day diet is that your body’s metabolism has been influenced by your past eating habits and that you will never be able to lose weight without constantly changing what you are eating.

Another way to look at is that: your metabolism has a memory, and it reacts to your eating habits the same way over and over again based on how you have eaten throughout your life.  The diet suggests if you are constantly changing your eating habits your metabolism won’t have the ability to sit idly and process food in the same way.  Meaning that your metabolism will always be working and always be burning more fat and processing food more efficiently.

They put forward as proof for the diet the fact that you need to diet.  You have struggled with your weight for some time and you haven’t been doing this, so this is the only way to fix it.

How to do the 11 Day Diet:

The 11 Day Diet or Idiot Proof Diet is not a free diet so I cannot list the actual requirements of the diet on this website without infringing on the copy write of the authors of the website that sells it.

If you are interested in learning how to actually do the 11 Day Diet you will have to visit their website and purchase a 90 day subscription for $27.00.

Do I recommend the 90 Day diet?

No, to me the idea that your metabolism has a memory is absurd.  Your body absolutely recognizes eating habits and your brain will store fat for times of famine, and burn calories based on many different eating habits.  But I don’t believe that confusing your metabolism by eating many different foods it going to help you lose any weight.

In my opinion if you are trying to lose weight it is much more beneficial to speak to a physician or nutritionist that can help you develop a meal plan and exercise program fit to your weight loss needs.

The 11 Day Diet was created by internet marketers to make money from a very lucrative niche and not by a professional dietician.  Before you buy the “Idiot Proof Diet” make the smart choice and talk to your doctor.

Eleven Day Diet

Monday, June 7th, 2010

The eleven day diet is a very different diet plan from most that you are probably use to encountering. In fact, today I am going to draw a very interesting comparison to how the 11 day diet works with your body and how one of the most popular workout plans in the world work as well. This was very interesting to me and I believe you will find it fascinating as well. But before we go there, let’s find out more about the eleven day diet.

Eleven Day Diet Background

This particular diet plan was born out of the roaring 1980′s when most of the fad diets were born. So just like every other diet at the time, it was about losing weight faster, with less effort, and more results. This is what the people demanded and this is what they got. The fad diet craze was expected to only last for a few years, then diet out, but the reality is much different than that.

In fact, instead of dying out, these diet plans have thrived over the last 25 years to become something of a phenomenon in the the physical fitness and weight loss category. Which is why I want to make this interesting comparison for you today.

Eleven Day Diet and P90X comparison

That’s right. The 11 day diet plan has some serious comparison to P90X, which is a 90 day workout plan designed to get you in the best shape of your life. Created by Beach Body International, this exercise plan focuses on creating muscle confusion to gain the effectiveness and ripped body muscle that most people want when doing home workout routines.

Muscle confusion is the art of working different body muscles in what seems to be a random sequence not allowing your body to know what is coming next, thus confusing it on the pattern of the workout and ensure maximum results with each exercise. I have personally done P90X and can tell you from experience this is a painful workout, but it works. The results are amazing and if you can do it for 90 straight days, you will not be disappointed.

Eleven Day Diet Confusion

The eleven day diet works on the same confusion principal as P90X, but not confusing your muscles, but confusing your metabolism rate. The idea behind the 11 day diet is that regular eating habits over time allow your body to get used to the types of foods you eat. Eventually, your body begins to slow it’s metabolic rate down in an effort to store energy and this allows you to burn less and less fat and calories.

This is not what you need in order to lose weight. Therefore, the 11 day diet focuses on confusing the body by allowing you to eat what seems like a random diet plan for the 11 day period, not allowing your body to know what is coming next. This confusion, which is similar to the concept behind P90X, is just what the body needs to keep the metabolic rate high and the calories burning off by the second.

If you are interested in a different style of dieting, then the eleven day diet is something that you definitely need to be looking into and you will not be disappointed.
